Policy Statement:
Nexonia Technologies Inc. is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible environment for all individuals, including those with disabilities. We are dedicated to complying with the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR) under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) by providing accessible services, facilities, and information, and by fostering a workplace that values diversity and inclusion.
Scope:
This policy applies to all aspects of our organization, including our services, facilities, information, and employment practices.
Responsibilities:
Nexonia Technologies Inc. assigns the following responsibilities to ensure compliance with accessibility standards:
- Carley Graham, People Operations: Responsible for coordinating and implementing accessibility initiatives & Responsible for the accessibility of public spaces and facilities.
- People Operations: Responsible for employment standards, including accommodation and training.
Information and Communication:
Nexonia Technologies Inc. will ensure that information and communications are accessible by:
- Providing information in accessible formats upon request.
- Making our website and digital content accessible in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
- Providing accessible public announcements, emergency information, and other important communications.
Employment Standards:
Nexonia Technologies Inc. will adhere to employment standards by:
- Providing accommodation to employees with disabilities.
- Ensuring equitable employment opportunities.
- Offering accessible recruitment and hiring processes.
Providing training to employees on accessibility awareness and customer service.
Transportation:
Nexonia Technologies Inc. is committed to providing accessible transportation services by:
- Ensuring transportation vehicles and infrastructure are accessible.
- Accommodating passengers with disabilities.
Design of Public Spaces:
Nexonia Technologies Inc. will adhere to accessibility standards in the design of public spaces and facilities, including:
- Ensuring public spaces are designed to be accessible and barrier-free.
Customer Service:
Nexonia Technologies Inc. is dedicated to providing accessible customer service by:
- Training employees and volunteers to serve customers with disabilities effectively.
- Welcoming feedback and inquiries related to accessibility.
Compliance Reporting:
We will submit compliance reports to the Accessibility Directorate of Ontario as required by the AODA.
Feedback Mechanism:
Individuals are encouraged to provide feedback, request accommodation, or make accessibility related inquiries by contacting Carley Graham. We will respond promptly to such requests.
Review and Update:
This policy will be reviewed and updated annually to ensure its effectiveness and continued compliance with AODA requirements.
Accessibility Plan:
Nexonia Technologies Inc. will have an Accessibility Plan in place, as required by AODA. The plan will detail the organization's strategies for achieving accessibility goals.
Training:
Nexonia Technologies Inc. will provide accessibility training to employees, volunteers, and others who interact with the public. Training will cover the IASR standards and how to interact with people with disabilities effectively.
