At Chrome River and across Emburse, our mission is to humanize work. A big part of this is to automate manual processes, allowing our customers to focus less on time-consuming tasks that add little value to the business (or their lives), so they can spend more time doing things that matter most to them.

When people think of the types of manual processes that we’ve eliminated, what immediately comes to mind are the innovations in areas such as mobile receipt capture and automatic data extraction, which are close to eliminating any manual interaction between receipt capture and expense reimbursement.

Humanizing work also matters for our customers’ finance, accounting and IT teams that make sure Chrome River works perfectly for every organization, every day, by cutting out admin tasks, allowing them to focus on more strategic, revenue-generating activities.

One of these is synching the expense solution with an organization’s human capital management (HCM) system. Whenever employees join or leave an organization, their record in Chrome River needs to be updated - for example, bank account details, who approves their expenses, if they approve anybody else’s expenses, and so on.

Typically this has been a mainly manual process, involving exporting and importing flat files. For a large organization with a significant amount of new hires or team hierarchy changes, having to do so frequently can become a time burden. That’s why we’re happy to add Ultimate Software’s UltiPro to the list of solutions that seamlessly integrates with Chrome River. Ultimate Software, which merged with Kronos earlier this year, is a true global leader in the HCM space, with more than 3,400 customers supporting over 33 million employees.

By connecting Chrome River EXPENSE and UltiPro, organizations can be assured that employee data will flow between their expense and HCM solutions. This means that new employees can submit expenses more quickly, and allocations and approval routings will be correct from day one. Employees can be assured that they will be reimbursed correctly, and in a timely manner. And most importantly, system administrators can spend less time on manual tasks, and devote their energy to more strategic, value-generating activities.
